About

Pacific Northwest Fuel Mate™ helps boaters plan cruises around the thing that decides how far you can go: fuel.

This blog is for family boaters and yacht-club cruisers exploring Puget Sound, the San Juan Islands, the Gulf Islands, and points north. We write about trip planning, fuel costs, tides and currents, and the marinas and anchorages that make a Northwest cruise work.

How we write

Practical over alarming. We lead with how to plan for real challenges, cite primary sources (NOAA, marinas' own sites, official tide and current data), and say so when something can't be verified.

Who we are

Pacific Northwest Fuel Mate is built by PNWTechnology (Pacific Northwest Technology LLC), a small software studio in the Pacific Northwest, by people who cruise these waters themselves.

Trip-planning content is general information. It doesn't replace charts, official tide and current tables, weather forecasts, or your own judgment on the water.
